Every Voice Contributes! Please Join One of Our Choirs
The music ministry of St. Ignatius Church uses the talents of the parish’s volunteer singers and instrumentalists to give glory to God through leading the assembly in song during the liturgies and through other special events At the heart of the St. Ignatius music ministry are three choirs that serve the parish. All of the singers in these choirs are volunteers who give most generously of their time and talent. New members are always welcome in the choirs and in fact very much enrich the experience for all of the choir members.
Parish Choir
The Parish Choir is an SATB (soprano-alto-tenor-bass) chorus for teens and adults that rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and from 8:15-8:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings and sings for the 9:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday. The parish choir sings a wide range of repertoire including hymnody, chant, Renaissance polyphony, choral anthems, and contemporary music. For the Sunday liturgies, the parish choir sings from either the music area at the front of the church or the choir loft. When in front, the choir is accompanied by the piano and when in the choir loft, the choir is accompanied by the organ.
Coro Hispano
The Coro Hispano is a teen and adult choir which currently rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. and sings in Spanish for the 12 p.m. Mass each Sunday. This choir sings beautiful Hispanic liturgical songs.
Children's Choir
The newly-formed St. Ignatius Children’s Choir rehearses on Tuesdays from 4:15-5:00 p.m. They sing seasonally and are members of the American Federation of Pueri Cantores, the Student Choral Organization of the Catholic Church.
