Liturgy

"The liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the font from which all her power flows. For the aim and object of apostolic works is that all who are made sons of God by faith and baptism should come together to praise God in the midst of His Church, to take part in the sacrifice, and to eat the Lord's supper."  - Sacrosanctum Concilium

Lay ecclesial ministers are members of the lay faithful, sharing in the common priesthood of all the baptized. As such, they are called to discipleship and “to illuminate and order all temporal things with which they are closely associated that these may always be effected and grow according to Christ.”  (source: usccb.org)

Please contact Deacon Chris, Volunteer and Welcoming Coordinator, if you want more information or feel called to participate in any of the following ministries:

Lectors

Lectors provide a reflective, prayerful, and intelligible proclamation of the scriptures.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion distributes the Body and Blood of Christ during the Masses (Saturday, Sunday, and Holy Days).

Ushers and Greeters

The most important job of a greeter is welcoming everyone into God's house. The other duties of the greeter are taking the collection, assisting people with special needs, and tidying the pews after Mass.

Altar Servers

The General Instruction of the Roman Missal defines the acolyte's role as “to serve at the altar and to assist the priest and deacon. In particular it is … to prepare the altar and the vessels.”

Music Ministry

If you would like to cantor for liturgies or become a member of one of our choirs please visit our Music Section for more information on how to get involved.
