Parish Fundraising Initiatives
St. Ignatius is a vibrant, ever-changing community, and we
are always developing new projects. Not only does St.
Ignatius serve its parishioners (with over 900 registered families and
growing!), we also provide services and events to our Rogers Park Community.
Read on for more information about the many ways that you can help to
support St. Ignatius parish.
The Next Century Campaign St. Ignatius Parish is now
accepting sponsorships and donations as part of its Next Century Capital
Campaign. This Campaign will allow the parish to continue its on going efforts
to maintain, restore, and beautify the parish buildings, as well as support the
many parish ministries. There are premiums associated with the different levels
of contribution. For more information on this vital fund raising campaign,
please call the rectory at (773) 764-5936.
Market Day Each month, St. Ignatius hosts a Market Day sale for
parishioners and neighborhood residents. Market Day offers a wide variety of
foods great for any family. Most of their products are pre-portioned, too,
which makes them easy to incorporate into your favorite recipes. They offer
a great selection of products, from 99% fat free ChickNSteaks, to fresh
frozen sweet corn, peas, and broccoli, as well as heat and eat meals,
pizzas, and desserts. For more information about Market Day, call the
rectory or visit www.marketday.com.
Monthly, Market Day raises an average of $300 for the parish, but we hope to
double that profit by reaching our goal of 100 orders per month.
Ton of Food Club The Ignatian Services Food Pantry distributes
about 48 tons of each year. Much of this food is purchased from the Greater
Chicago Food Depository at the price of seven cents per pound. At this
price, one ton of food costs about $140. To recognize our major donors,
Ignatian Services has created the Ton of Food Club. Each donor of $140 or
more becomes a member of the Ton of Food Club. While there are lots of ways
to support Ignatian Services, monetary donations are especially important
because they allow us to buy products that we cannot get at the GCFD, like
yogurt, diapers, hygiene products (soap, shampoos, deodorant, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, etc). For more information about Ignatian Services,
click here. To become a member of the
Ton of Food Club, please mail your check for $140 (payable to St. Ignatius
Church, write Ton of Food in the memo line) to: Ignatian Services, 6559
N. Glenwood, Chicago, IL 60626, attn: Ton of Food Club. Thank you for
your donation!
Organ Restoration Fund One of the major projects of the St. Ignatius Music
Ministry, headed by Dr. Brian DuSell is the restoration of the Church's 1925
Kilgen Pipe Organ. Begun in 1993, the organ restoration project has brought
the organ into reliable playing condition. Every pipe in the organ is now
playable. Upcoming projects for the instrument are the installation of a solid
state combination action (cost: $21,000.00) and the installation of a complete
solid state relay system (with a complete rewiring of the organ) (cost:
$55,000.00). Also, the following sets of pipes in the organ need to be restored
or replaced Great Principal 4', Great Principal 2', Gross Flute 8', Swell, 4'
Principal, Swell Mixture III, Swell Vox Humana, Choir, Clarinette, and Choir
French Horn. (Cost: $6,000.00 per set of pipes) You can hear the organ regularly
at Mass (for scheduled masses which include the organ, please contact
Brian). If you are a music
lover and want to help to ensure the future of the organ and the St.
Ignatius Music Program, please make a contribution to the Organ Restoration
Fund. Send your check (payable to St. Ignatius Church, write Organ Fund in
the memo line) to St. Ignatius Music Ministry, 6559 N. Glenwood, Chicago
IL 60626, attn: Organ Restoration Fund.
